How Does BSA Calculation Work?

For a patient with height 175 cm and weight 72 kg:
BSA = √((175 × 72) / 3600) = √3.5 = 1.87 m²

Clinical Notes
Mosteller is preferred in most oncology protocols for its balance of simplicity and accuracy. The DuBois & DuBois formula (1916) remains in use in some institutional EMRs and may yield results differing by 1–5% from Mosteller, particularly at extremes of body size.
BSA for Children

Limitations
